Jeff entered the military upon graduating from  High School in 1988. After 25 years of service, he retired as a sergeant major.

He spent his first five years of service with the 2nd Ranger Battalion out of Fort Lewis, Wash. In December 1989, Jeff participated in a 500-foot combat parachute jump into Rio Hato, Panama, in support of the capture of dictator Manuel Noriega and the ultimate demise of the Panamanian defense forces.

Jeff spent 15 years as a special operations soldier, making 13 deployments to Iraq and two trips to Afghanistan and traveling to numerous other countries in support of the war on terrorism.

During his tenure in The Unit, he participated in more than 700 combat missions.

Jeff retired with eight Bronze Stars, including three with valor; a Purple Heart; and many other awards and citations.
